Valorie Valencia, PhD, RYT
The door to well-being opened for Valorie in 2001.
She completed the 200-hour yoga teacher
training program at the Southwest Institute of the Healing Arts and the 500-hour program at
Inner Vision. Her many teachers include Brian Miller (Chi Yoga), Jeff Martens, Sri Dharma Mittra,
Paul Grilley, Edward Clark (Tripsichore Yoga Theatre), Dr. David Bercelli, and Nicolai Bachman
(Sanskrit Sounds). In addition to classes at The Pointe South Mountain, she has taught yoga
to women inmates at Maricopa County's Tent City Jail.
Most recently, Valorie learned meridian theory from Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama at the California
Institute for Human Sciences, joint freeing exercises from Mukunda Stiles, Shamanic practices
from Dr. Alberto Villoldo, health and longevity approaches from David Wolfe, relationship insights
from Kathlyn and Gay Hendricks, wealth-generation recipes from Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup
for the Soul) and Robert Allen (The One Minute Millionaire), energy healing from Brent Phillips
and Qi Gong and other Taoist practices from Cain Carroll and Master Zhongxian Wu.
A scientist by profession,
Valorie incorporates meridian acupoint tapping techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and energy healing modalities such as ThetaHealing®.
As a member of IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences), she has
studied with Gregg Braden, Dr. Bruce Lipton and other pioneers integrating science and
spirituality. Valorie serves on the Editorial Board for the California Institute for Human Science (CIHS) Journal.
She has also been heavily influenced by the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Dr.
Wayne Dyer, Sonia Choquette, Brian Tracy, Dr. Danial Amen, Michael Tamura, Dr. Luanne Oakes,
Dr. Deepak Chopra, Stuart Wilde, Ken Wilbur, Dr. David Hawkins, Dattatriya Siva Baba, Barbara Mahaffey and Robert Rabbin.
Valorie’s never-ending investigation of health, prosperity and relationships adds to the maturity of
knowledge and insight she offers. Her goal is to live another 450 years.
Steve Price, MFA, RYT
Steve survived 25 years in the advertising industry, starting as a copywriter on Madison Avenue.
In 2002, after getting into three car accidents at the same intersection, he took his first yoga class.
He began teaching one year later and has since taught thousands of classes at Valley studios, health clubs,
colleges and addiction recovery centers as well as private sessions.
In 2006, Steve received his MFA in Creative Writing, and has published stories and poems in journals
across the U.S. and abroad. He has taught creative writing at ASU, Benchmark Elementary School, Phoenix
Art Institute and community colleges throughout Maricopa County.
Steve’s writing gurus include Norman Dubie, Mary Sojourner, Martín Espada, Simon Ortiz, Joshua Beckman,
and Jeannine Savard. Among his many teachers of yoga and other spiritual practices are Dave Oliver, David
Hari Jap Meyers, Sevak Khalsa, Jeff Martens, Erich Schiffmann, Ana Forest, Jonathon Monks, Cain Carroll,
Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, Zhongxian Wu, Sonia Choquette and Osho.
Steve maintains a daily practice of yoga and writing, and he recently completed a 600-hour training program at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, receiving an advanced yoga certification as well as certifications in Yoga Nidra and Life Coaching.
